Here we have a large badge/possibly helmet plate, of the Lorne Scots Peel Dufferin & Halton Regiment,a primary reserve infantry Regt of the Canadian Army.Part of the 4th Canadian division.This Regiment has served with distinction from Ypres in WW1 right through to more recently the Afghanistan War.They have one of the oldest Pipe bands in Canada,and are considered to be the best there is. Very nice quality badge of this famous regiment that had 17 battalions - and a much loved regiment.They played a very important part in WW1,landing at Le Havre.Facing many losses, this regiment fought on the frontline in the theatre of War and stayed until the end.One of their Officers,a 2nd Lieutenant was awarded a Victoria Cross posthumously,for gallantry shown at Helles.Superb WW1 badge £18

The NZEF 7/11th was a regiment that fought in WW1,as expeditionary forces.The badge is not a common badge,but a very well made one,and would enhance a collection of Commonwealth badges.This regiment fought as a local unti during the Maori Wars,partivularly at the Battle of Waireka where one of the soldiers won a Victoria Cross for bravery.

Superb rare badge in bronze of this little known regiment. It worked (in the UK and also Europe) to provide timber and lumber for the expeditionary forces.Providing barracks ,ammunition crates,road surfaces etc.They also cleared areas suitable for runways and airfields in WW2.In WW2 they had a different badge. 56 companies were operational on the Western Front. Lovely badge with long lugs for piercing the thick Kahki material.£27

Infantry Australian regiment deployed during WW1 and WW2. We know very little about this regiment except to say it was part of the all volunteer Australian Imperial Force.This battalion served in the trenches on the Western Front,so they saw a lot of action.The Regt was briefly raised in WW2 but disbanded later. Brass badge in very good order.£25

This is a superb badge of this very old Volunteers regt.During the War in the Sudan,this battalion took part in the battle of Omduran in 1898.This volunteer battalion in WW1, were initially put on War footing in Bermuda where they were based.They were eventually sent to France to join the Western Front in June 1915,the first colonial volunteer unit to join the Western front.50% of their men were lost in battle.The men that were left, fought on the Western front throughout the WW1 period.A small history of a great unit. This regiment was a Rifle Regiment in the British Indian Army.An ancient regiment, in 1856 the regiment won a Victoria Cross for storming Reshire Fort.This was the 1st VC awarded to an Indian Regiment.They fought with distinction in the 2nd Afghan War,the 1st Battalion marched for 145 miles in 5 days to lay siege to Khandahar.The 3rd Battalion also fought in the Boxer Rebellion in China.
